Temple-Miami To Renew Football Rivalry on Gridiron
8.3.17 | Football
PHILADELPHIA – Temple Football announced today a home-and-home scheduling agreement with the University of Miami, a current member of the Atlantic Coast Conference and former Temple rival when both schools competed in the BIG EAST.
Temple will travel to Miami for a game on September 5, 2020, and the Hurricanes will visit Philadelphia on September 23, 2023.
The two teams renew a rivalry that spans 14 games. The teams first met in 1930 with Temple posting a 34-0 blanking of Miami. The Hurricanes have won the last 13 meetings.
The two schools last played on October 15, 2005, when the #7 Hurricanes traveled to Lincoln Financial Field for a 34-3 victory. Temple last traveled to Miami in 2001 when the #1 ranked Hurricanes shutout the Owls, 38-0.
In recent years, Temple announced series with FBS opponents such as Boston College (ACC), Duke (ACC), Oklahoma (Big 12), Maryland (Big 10), and Rutgers (Big 10). In some cases, the previously announced game dates have changed to accommodate additional scheduling.
