Women’s Soccer Hosts Rider Thursday

PHILADELPHIA- Temple women's soccer will play its second game in a row at home as the Owls take on Rider this Thursday, Aug. 31 with a 6 p.m. start time.
Scouting the Owls
> The Owls are led by head coach Seamus O'Connor who is in his fifth year with the program.
> Junior forward Kerri McGinley scored the first two goals of her career in the first four games and is currently the Owls' leader in goals (2) and points (4).
> Redshirt senior forward Kayla Cunningham leads the team with two assists, and both have come off corner kicks. Three of the Owls' last four goals have been assisted.
> The Owls have played 23 out of their 28 players this season, continuing to show how deep the bench is. Seven out of the eight incoming freshmen have seen playing time through the first four games as well.
> Last week, freshman midfielder Julia Dolan was awarded honor roll status by the American Athletic conference. She scored the game-winning goal in overtime over Fairleigh Dickinson, giving the Owls their first win of the season.

> Rider is 0-2-0 to start the season and led by head coach Drayson Hounsome who is in his 10th season with the program.
> Goalies Amy Kozlowski and Carmen Carbonell have spilt time in net for the Broncs. So far, each is credited with one loss.
> Midfielder Kourtney Cunningham scored the Broncs' only goal so far this season
Series History vs. Rider
> The overall series between Temple and Rider is tied 3-3. Whoever gets the win will go ahead in the all-time series. The Owls have beaten the Broncs the last three consecutive years.
Up Next
> The Owls will host their third home game in a row this Sunday Sept. 3 as they take on Mount St. Mary's at 3:30 p.m. It will be the start of a doubleheader for Temple soccer as the men will also play Rider later on at 7:00 p.m.
