Boumerhi Named American Special Teams Player of the Week; Bryant to Weekly Honor Roll

NEWPORT, R.I. - The American Athletic Conference has released its weekly awards and sophomore K Aaron Boumerhi was named Special Teams Player of the Week. For the Philipsburg, Pa native, this is his third time receiving these honors (10/21/16 & 10/29/16). Redshirt junior WR Ventell Bryant was also included on the weekly honor roll.

Boumerhi nailed a career-long 49-yard FG with 1:00 remaining for a 16-13 win over Villanova. Temple had surrendered a 13-0 lead when Villanova tied the game at 13 with 3:29 left. Overall, Boumerhi was 2-3 on FGs (missed his first attempt of the season from 48; good from 49 and 44).

Bryant finished his day Saturday with seven reception for 79 yards, moving him into 11th place all-time in school history for both categories.
