Men's Soccer Hosts Penn State on Wednesday

PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's soccer will round out its three-game homestand on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. hosting Penn State (2-4-2). The Owls (2-5-1) are coming off a 2-0 loss to UConn on Saturday Sept. 23.
WHITE OUT!
> Temple will host a "White Out" during the match.
> Fans are encouraged to wear white to the Temple Sports Complex.
> Free white Temple t-shirts will be given to all students in attendance while supplies last.
Scouting the Owls
> Temple's seven goals in 2017 are spread amongst redshirt senior Mark Grasela, senior Joonas Jokinen, and sophomores Thibault Candia, Lukas Fernandes, and Zach Brown.
> Redshirt senior goalkeeper Alex Cagle, who logged 52 saves in 2016, has collected 12 so far this fall. The Brookfield, Wis., native has seen action in seven out of eight games this season.
> Candia, named to this week's American and Philadelphia Soccer Six Weekly Honor Rolls, scored his first two career goals against Duquesne on Sept. 19. The sophomore led Temple to a 4-1 win, its second victory of the season.
Scouting the Nittany Lions
> Penn State closed out 2016 with a record of 8-8-2 and returns 19 student-athletes this season.
> Sophomore Aaron Malloy is the squad's leading scorer in 2017 with two goals. Christian Sload, Mitchel Bringolf, and Mac Curran have also aided in scoring with one goal each.
> Bringolf scored his first career goal on Sept. 20 against Detroit Mercy. The goal gave Penn State an early second half lead that resulted in a 2-0 win, its second shutout of 2017.
> Redshirt senior goalkeeper Evan Finney has logged 24 totals saves and two shutouts so far across the Nittany Lions' eight games.

> Penn State leads the all-time series 20-40-8. In 2016, the Owls snagged a 1-0 victory at Penn State thanks to Jorge Gomez Sanchez's game-winning goal with help from Joonas Jokinen.
