Men's Basketball Suffers Road Loss at UCF

ORLANDO - It was just not Temple's day offensively as the Owls (7-8, 0-4) suffered their fifth straight loss at UCF (12-4, 3-1) by a score of 60-39. The Knights held Temple scoreless for over 10 minutes in the second half and led by double digits for the final 11 and a half minutes.
Keys to the Game
> Temple's three leading scorers - Quinton Rose, Shizz Alston, Jr. and Obi Enechionyia - were all held to just two points apiece.
> The Owls forced 15 turnovers, but committed a season-high 19 of them. UCF took advantage, finishing with a 20-11 lead in points off turnovers.
> Temple had a 10-point deficit down to five points with 13:54 remaining, but did not score again until 3:40, missing shots or turning the ball over for 15 straight possessions.
Individual Highlights
> Freshman Nate Pierre-Louis was the Owls' lone player to reach double figures in scoring, posting a career-high 13 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field.
> Enechionyia went just 1-for-6 but pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds while also leading all players with two blocks.
> Dayon Griffin led UCF with 15 points, while Ceasar DeJesus added 13.

> Other than a strong offensive spurt midway through, it was a struggle for the Owls throughout the period as they finished with a season-low 22 first-half points.
> Temple started out 1-for-8 with four turnovers and trailed 8-2 before turning up the heat and using a 15-3 run to take its largest lead of six points, 17-11 with 6:09 to go.
> It was all UCF over the next five minutes as the Knights exploded for a 16-0 run to take a double-digit lead, 27-17 at the two-minute mark.
> With a three-point play by Pierre-Louis and a jumper by Alston in the final seconds, Temple trailed by just seven at the break, 29-22.
> For the half, UCF out-shot Temple 57 percent to 36 percent.
Second Half
> The Knights increased their lead back to 10 points early in the second half, but the Owls used a 9-4 run to cut the margin to five, 36-31 at 13:54.
> From there, Temple went cold the rest of the way, including a stretch of 10:14 without a single point.
> Pierre-Louis made two buckets in the final 1:30 to reach his career high of 13 points.
