Temple Adds Four More to 2018 Commitments

PHILADELPHIA – Today, Temple Football added four more players to its list of 2018 commitments. In December during the early signing period, Temple had 25 players sign a letter of intent, giving the team a total of 29 commitments.
"The big thing about the whole recruiting class is we don't shy away from who we are," said Temple head coach Geoff Collins. "We're tough, we're physical, we work really hard and the kids that we bring in understand that coming in so there is less de-recruitment phase. We know what our brand is, our players live our brand everyday and these kids that we sign buy into it and want to be a part of it."
The total recruits include 26 incoming freshmen and three transfers. Already, six players from the December signing have enrolled and begun classes at Temple (Trad Beatty, JD Gomez, Isaac Moore, Kadas Reams, Sean Ryan, and Rock Ya-Sin).
Today's additions are: LB Travon King, RB Onasis Neely, DL David Nwaogwugwu, and DL Tyreke Young.
Travon King LB 6-3 189 Camden, N.J. Woodrow Wilson
High School: Played wide receiver and linebacker for head coach Preston Brown at Woodrow Wilson High … ranked as the 33rd best player in New Jersey … earned first team All-South Jersey honors as a senior after recording 21.5 sacks, 38 tackles-for-loss and 70 total tackles … also had 46 catches for 700 yards and eight touchdowns … as a junior totaled 390 receiving yards on 25 receptions along with 6 receiving touchdowns and added 44 tackles for loss … Personal: Born Travon W. King in Camden N.J. … parents are Pippa Blanton and Charles King … father served in the military … plans to major in sports management.
Onasis Neely RB 6-0 201 Enola, Pa. East Pennsboro
High School: Played running back for head coach Todd Stuter at East Pennsboro (N.J.) High … rushed for 2,464 yards and 32 touchdowns as a senior … totaled 1,838 yards and 24 touchdowns rushing as a junior … Personal: Born Onasis A. Miller in Harrisburg, Pa. … parents are Talita and O'Neal Neely … has one brother Owassa McDaniel (20) and one sister Tahara Neely (13) … plans to study sports management.
David Nwaogwugwu DL 6-5 240 Bronx, N.Y. DeWitt Clinton
High School: Was a four-year letterwinner as a defensive end and offensive tackle for head coach Howard Langley at Dewitt Clinton High … had 42 tackles, 28 tackles-for-loss, and four sacks as a senior earning first team all-city … as a junior notched 48 tackles 17 TFLs and two sacks … also lettered in basketball … Personal: Born David Nwaogwugwu (pronounced No-gu-gu) in Nigeria … parents are Joy and Obidma Nwaogwugwu … brothers, Joseph (6) and Emmanuel (2), and sister Chinwendu (4) … list of favorites include: Harry Potter (movie), Teen Wolf (TV show), rap (music) … plans to major in nursing.
