Track & Field's DMR Team Takes First at Fastrack National Invite

Staten Island, N.Y. – Temple track and field competed for the last time in the 2018 indoor season at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday for the Fastrack National Invite. Temple's distance medley relay team will bring home first place among the Owls' eleven other top 10 finishes.
Keys to the Meet
> In the unseeded 3000-meter run, freshman Michelle Joyce placed third with a personal best time of 9.59.72.
> The 3000-meter Invite race featured sophomore Grace Moore. Moore placed sixth overall with a time of 9.39.29. Freshman Lucy Jones completed the race in a time of 10:03.60 to finish 14th.
> In the unseeded 200-meter invitational, freshmen Mallorie Smith and Grace Gillespie ran 25.81 (second) and 26.08, respectively. Smith's time marked a personal best in the event. Sophomore Ebonee Jackson was entered into the 200-meter invite where she ran a 25.65 (17th).
> Smith returned for the 400-meter dash along with fellow freshman Sydney Williams. Williams placed second overall with a time of 57.50 while Smith reached a personal best time of 58.20.
> In the mile run invite, sophomore Mille Howard finished with a time of 4:54.86 to take eighth overall.
> Junior Ashton Dunkley and freshman Helene Gottlieb represented Temple in the 800-meter invite. Gottlieb placed seventh with a time of 2:12.28 while Dunkley finished in 2:15.50. Sophomore Jazmyne Williams and freshman McKenzie Gelvin ran in the unseeded 800-meter run with times 2:21.31 and 2:23.94, respectively.
> Temple's distance medley relay team made up of Howard, Dunkley, Gelvin, and Jones placed first overall with a time of 12:17.64.
