One of the finest lineman in Temple football history. Starred for the Owls in the 1940 and 1941 seasons. Played both offense and defense and started every game while winning All-American mention. Became an outstanding professional player with the Philadelphia Eagles. Played 13 pro seasons and missed only one of 203 games because of an injury. Played in 147 consecutive games which was a league record at the time. Made all-pro for six years and played in three Pro Bowl games. Was the 42nd player elected to the Helms Hall of Fame. Following his playing days he has been a coach and administrator in the pro ranks. Was an all-scholastic player at Northeast Catholic High School.
