PHILADELPHIA - Temple (26-27, 16-11) returns to the Atlantic 10 Tournament for the first time since 2002 when play begins on Wednesday at Campbell's Field in Camden, NJ. The Owls, seeded fourth, will take on fifth-seeded Rhode Island (29-25-1, 15-11) at noon.

With its 5-0 victory over Saint Louis in the regular season finale on Saturday, Temple set a program record with 16 conference wins. The previous record was 15, set in 1960 and 2001.

Temple has made ten Atlantic 10 Tournament appearances and has won league titles in 1983, 1984 and 2001. The three titles are second among current league members, behind George Washington's four.

The Owls boast a 16-16 all-time record in A-10 Tournament play and their 16 wins are third all-time among current league members (GW and UMass have 28.)

TU is 7-3 all-time in A-10 Tournament openers. Of the 32 games the Owls have played in the A-10 Tournament, only six are against opponents in this year's field. Temple is 2-1 vs. Xavier (1996, 2002, 2002), 0-1 vs. St. Bonaventure (2002), and 2-0 vs. Rhode Island (1984).
