Four Temple baseball players - rising seniors Lenny DelGrippo, Carmen Del Mastro and Kyle Obal, and rising sophomore Byron McKoy - have been named to their respective summer league all-star teams. Del Grippo and Del Mastro are teammates on the Fort Collins Foxes of the Mountain Collegiate League, Obal suits up for the Rockville Express of the Cal Ripken, Sr., Collegiate Baseball League, while McKoy plays for the Carolina Thunder in the Southern Collegiate Baseball League.
Temple's Mike Mongiardini, who recently completed his senior season pitching for the Owls, has signed a professional contract with the Kalamazoo Kings of the Frontier League, the team announced this weekend. Senior Stan Orzechowski, who batted .396 with four home runs and 16 RBI during May, has been named the owlsports.com Athlete of the Month. Orzechowski earned Atlantic 10 All-Tournament and All-Philadelphia Big 5 honors during the month as well. Read More >
