Temple senior outfielder Sean Barksdale has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-East Region first team, in voting conducted by the head coaches of 30 teams. He is the first Owl to receive ABCA all-region honors since Pete Moore was named to the second team in 1999. Barksdale also earned second team All-ECAC honors last week.
Temple senior outfielder Sean Barksdale has been selected by the Houston Astros in the 38th round (1,151st overall) of the 2009 Major League Draft on Thursday. He is the first Owl to be drafted since 1999 when Joe Kerrigan, Jr. went in the 46th round to the Boston Red Sox. Read More >

Temple senior outfielder Sean Barksdale has been named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Year in voting conducted by the city's head coaches and sports information offices. Four more Owls -- junior Tony Jusino, senior Kyle Obal, senior Mark Ortega, and junior Ryan Thomas - joined Barksdale on the all-Big 5 team while sophomore Byron McKoy was named to the Big 5 all-academic team.
