PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University men’s basketball will make nine appearances on national television, the most since the 2001-02 squad was televised nationally 13 times in the regular season. “This is great for not only the program, but for Temple fans around the country,” said Temple men’s basketball coach Fran Dunphy. Temple will appear on ESPN/ESPN2 five times during the 2008-09 campaign. The Owls’ December 13 home game against Tennessee will be shown on ESPN with the team’s games at Xavier (Feb. 5) and at Saint Joseph’s (2/12) being on either ESPN/ESPN2. The Cherry and White’s games at Kansas (12/20) and at Massachusetts (1/17) are slated for ESPN2. The Owls’ games at Villanova (12/29) and home against Charlotte (1/24) will be televised by ESPNU. Temple’s home games with Saint Louis (1/22) and Saint Joseph’s (3/5) will be carried nationally by CBS College Sports.
