CAMDEN, NJ - The Temple men's crew team advanced its Varsity 4 and Freshman 4 shells to the semifinals of the IRA National Championships but neither boat was able to qualify for the grand final Friday. The regatta will continue Saturday on the Cooper River. The varsity four, comprised of coxswain Rory Roberts, stroke Thomas Haubrich, Nick Vlahos (3-seat), Thomas Masterson (2-seat) and Chris Schwartz (box), placed fourth in their semifinal Friday. They will conclude their season in the petite final Saturday at 9:00 a.m. The freshman four, comprised of coxswain Don Norris, stroke Scott Waters, John Masterson (3-seat), Jeff Wunderlich (2-seat) and Steve Cahill (bow), placed fifth in their semifinal. They will compete in the petite final on Saturday at 9:48 a.m.
