Recap |  Box Score |  Notes

Temple head coach Al Golden

"We have won two on the road now, which is big for our program. We got our second win, and we only lost the other ones by nine points. The guys know that we could be 5-1. They believe and this should give them some evidence that we can win on the road."

On the play of quarterback Chester Stewart:
"I think he became a man in the fourth quarter. The game got really tight. I told everyone on the sideline to enjoy the battle because that was not always the case our first 16 or 17 games here. There was a tendency, before, when our guys were young, to not step in there the way that Chester did. Hopefully, he will grow up a lot and people will get a picture of what his overall talent is."

Miami head coach Shane Montgomery

"Obviously, it was a very disappointing game. For the fifth-straight game we came out and got behind. If we continue to do that it is going to be hard to come back against good football teams. Our defense came out and set a pretty good tone early. I think we stopped them on the first three-or-four drives. We really struggled offensively and just did not make any plays at all and could not get any first downs. Temple was able to take advantage of it and go into the half up 14-0."

On the second half:
"I liked the way we came out in the second half. Our guys believed that if we came out and got off to a great start that we would be able to get back in the game and we did. There were two offensive drives that we were down 14-10 and had good field position, and we did not get anything. They put us in a situation where we had to throw and we knew against their tough front it would be hard to just drop back and throw against them all day."

On putting in Clay Belton at quarterback in the second half:
"I felt like we needed a spark. I thought he provided us with a spark. We ran the ball coming out in the second half and took some pressure off of him. I thought he did some good things. When you are down 21-10 with six minutes left, you become one dimensional."
