The Temple golf team shot a two-round, 72-over par 648 (326-322) to finish fourth at the Scotty Duncan Memorial Golf Tournament, played October 7-8, at White Clay Creek Golf Course. Sophomore Adam Pifer paced the Cherry & White, carding an 11-over 155 (77-78) on the par 72, 7,007-yard course to finish tied for fourth in the 42-player field.
Host Delaware won the tournaments with a 41-over 617 (306-311), 15 strokes better than second place Drexel (313-319=632). Goldey-Beacom finished in the show position with a 641 (325-315) team score. Blue Hen freshman Jason Bernstein defeated teammate John Jenson on the first hole of a sudden death to win the individual crown, as the two finished 36 holes with eight-over 152 performances.
Temple seniors Logan Terry (84-81) and James Boose (81-84) finished tied for 20th in the seven-team event with 165 scores. Hugo Braune (22nd, 86-80=166) and Eric Plisko (t-23rd, 84-83=167) completed the Cherry and White scorecard.
The Owls, under the direction of third-year head coach Brian Rogers, return to action at the Big 5 Championship, to be played at the Philadelphia Cricket Club in Flourtown, Pa., October 14-15.
