PHILADELPHIA-Temple's Nykia White (Williamston, N.C.) won the 2003 events final on the still rings on Saturday, March 29 at the ECAC Championships, held in Massachusetts on the campus of MIT. White, joined teammate Alex Weber (Kutztown, Pa /Kutztown) who captured the all-around title on Friday, March 28. Tory Torcomian (Havertown, Pa. /Archbishop Carroll) placed third on the rings (9.30).
White, a sophomore placed first on the rings with a score of 9.8. Weber, a senior won all-around title with a score of 53.20.
The Owls grabbed their second consecutive ECAC title on Friday, March 28. The win automatically qualified Temple for the NCAA qualifier, which will be conducted April 11 at the Liacouras Center on the campus of Temple University.
