Philadelphia, Pa. (April 3) - Senior Michael Moran and Freshman Alex Weber competed in the preliminary round of the NCAA

Championships at the University of Iowa this past weekend.

Moran, a native of Windsor, Conn., competed on Friday in the individual competition and landed a 16th place finish on the

floor exercise scoring a 9.725 and finished 19th on the still rings scoring a 9.600. Weber, a native of Kutztown, Pa. finished 33rd

on the floor exercise scoring a 9.450. Both gymnasts didn't score high enough to make the event finals.

Head coach Fred Turoff was named the East Region Coach of the Year along with Navy head coach Sho Fukushima. Also

competing in the qualifying meet on March 30th were freshmen Theo Maes, Richie Maguire, Jason Moresi and sophomore Brian

Munn but didn't score high enough to qualify for the preliminary round.
