  Fred Turoff Named To 2009 USA Gymnastics World Team Selection Committee

Temple University men's gymnastics head coach Fred Turoff has been named to the 2009 USA Gymnastics World Team Selection Committee. Turoff, who is entering his 34th season at the helm of the Owls' men's gymnastics program, was selected in February to be inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2009. He will be enshrined on August 14 at a Hall of Fame luncheon which is part of the USA Gymnastics National Congress and Trade Show in Dallas. It is being held in conjunction with the 2009 Visa Championships.

Senior Jason Russo of the Temple men's gymnastics team was the named the 2008-09 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Men's At-Large Performer of the Year - highlighting several recent exceptional academic achievements by both the men's and women's gymnastics teams. Senior John Vogtman was also selected to the All-Area men's team, while senior Natasha Crawford and junior Danielle Viens were selected to the women's All-Area team.

Men's Gymnastics Concludes Season at NCAA Championships
 
The Temple men's gymnastics team concluded the 2009 season, as eight members of the squad competed at the NCAA National Championships from the University of Minnesota. Sophomore Tyler Croteau picked up the Owls' top individual performance of the day, finishing tied for 16th on floor with a score of 14.800.

Eight Owls Selected for NCAA Men's Gymnastics Qualifier
 
Eight members of the Temple men's gymnastics team - sophomore Adam Al-Rokh, sophomore Scott Bloomfield, freshman Evan Burke, sophomore Tyler Croteau, junior Patrick McLaughlin, freshman Chris Mooney, senior John Vogtman, and freshman Jeff Zack - have been selected to participate in the NCAA Championships qualifier at the University of Minnesota Sports Pavilion on Thursday, April 16.
