Ambler, Pa - The Temple men's soccer team battled Fordham to a 0-0 tie Friday afternoon at Ambler Sports Complex. Owls keeper Bret Mollon made two saves on the day on his way to leading the Cherry and White to their eighth shutout of the season. The Owls are now 9-4-4, 5-1-2 in A-10 play, while Fordham moves to 8-7-2, 4-3-1.

Both teams made their presence felt physically on the field, neither the Owls nor Rams tallied a shot on goal in the first half. The Owls managed seven shots, none of which found the net. Junior midfielder J.T. Noone led the way with five shots on the day, three on goal.

The Cherry and White found an offensive groove in the second half, but could not capitalize on their chances. Sophomore Kenechukwu Nwanah gave the Owls a boost off of the bench, nearly scoring on a breakaway midway through the second.

Overtime was controlled by the Owls, putting two shots on goal in the first overtime period. The offensive attempts of the Cherry and White were stymied by strong goalie play from Rams keeper Ryan Meara, who made six saves on the day, three in overtime.

Owls keeper Bret Mollon has made 51 saves on the season thus far, only allowing 15 goals against.

The Owls (9-4-4, 5-1-2 in A-10 play) will finish their regular season on Sunday, November 9, when they face off with La Salle at 1:00 p.m. Prior to the start of the game, seniors James Suevo and Mackenson Altidor will be honored.
