WASHINGTON, DC -- Steve Brown scored in the 78th minute to break a scoreless tie and propel George Washington to a 1-0 win over Temple in Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer action Friday afternoon at the Mount Vernon Athletic Complex.  The loss snaps a four-game Temple win streak and leaves the Owls at 8-7-2 overall and 5-2-2 in A-10 play.  GW, which posted its fourth straight win, improves to 5-8-3 and 4-3-2 in the conference.

Brown connected from 25 yards out for his first goal of the season.  The goal snapped a 409-minute string of shutout minutes for Temple goalkeeper Patrick Hannigan.  The Owl keeper made two saves in the contest.

Colonial keeper Derek Biss made one save in posting his fifth career shutout, and second of the season.

The Owls continue their trip with a 1:00 p.m. match at Richmond on Sunday.
