PHILADELPHIA - The Soccer Seven announced today that Temple men's soccer standout J.T. Noone was named "Chris Jones" Player of the Year, as well as "John McAdams" Academic Player of the Year, and freshman Tyler Witmer was dubbed the William "Bill" Wilkinson Freshman of the Year. Noone and Witmer, along with senior James Suevo, were also named to the Soccer Seven All-Star team.

Noone can add the "Chris Jones" Player of the Year award to his already prestigious collection this season. The junior midfielder posted a record setting season for the Owls, tallying a school record 13 assists. Noone, a Harrisburg native (Central Dauphin), led the Soccer Seven in points with 27, and in assists with 13. In addition, his 3.88 cumulative grade point average as an economics major garnered him the "John McAdams" Academic Player of the Year award.

In his first year in collegiate play, Tyler Witmer ranked second in the Soccer Seven with eight goals, and led all rookies in the Soccer Seven with 18 points. The Wernersville native's (Conrad Weiser) performance this year earned him the William "Bill" Wilkinson Freshman of the Year award.

Senior James Suevo was named to the Soccer Seven All-Star team for his solid defensive performances this season. Suevo, who posted three goals, was the anchor to an Owls defense that allowed only 19 goals, and notched nine shutouts.

The three Owls helped lead Temple to a 10-5-4, 6-1-2 in A-10 play record, and spearheaded the team to their first Atlantic 10 tournament appearance since 2004.
