HAVERFORD, Pa. - Sophomore Josue Louis won the men's high jump (6-6 3/4) and finished second in the men's 55m hurdles (7.72) to lead the Temple men's indoor track and field team at the season opening Jack Pyrah Invitational on Friday afternoon. Consistently the Owls's top high jumper last season, Louis picked up where he left off last season with the first place finish and has already met IC4A qualifing standards with his 7.72 time in the 55m hurdles. Outside of Louis, several other Owls' had im pressive season opening performances. Sophomore Miles Dryden won the men's long jump (22-9 3/4), junior Grant West finished second in the men's weight throw (52-2 1/2), sophomore Lou Parisi finished second in the 800 meter (2:01.07) and freshman Travis Mahoney finished third in the men's 300 meter (8:52.37). The Owls return to action following the semester break with the Metropolitan Invite on Friday, January 9th.
