NEWARK, DE -- The Temple men's indoor track team opened the new year with solid results at the Delaware Invitational on Friday. Junior William Wacker won the 500m (1:07.72) and junior David Jackson placed second in the long jump (6.78m) to pace the Owl individual performances. There was no team scoring in the invitational that included Maryland, La Salle, Delaware State and the host Blue Hens. Other top showings for the Cherry and White were turned in by senior Steven Johnson and junior Wendell Raulston. Johnson placed sixth in the 60m dash (7.29) and third in the long jump (6.71m) while Raulston finished third in the high jump (1.83m). The Owls return to action next Sunday at the Great Dane Classic at Albany.
