NEW YORK-Sophomore David Jackson placed fifth and seventh in the 200 and 55 meters. The 4x400 meter relay team captured second place as the Temple men's track and field team placed 10th in the Great Dane Classic hosted by the University of Albany on Sunday January 18 at the New York City Armory.
The 11-school field featured four America East Conference members the host school Albany, Binghamton, UMBC and Northeastern. Other participants included Lafayette, Monmouth, Rider, Southern Connecticut State, Wheeling Jesuit and Temple. Rounding out the field is Division III program Hunter College.
Jackson ran the 55 meters in 6.56 (seventh) and ran the 200 meters in 22.31 to earn fifth place.
Other notable results for the Owls: Bryant Adams placed seventh in 200m with a time of 22.33, Dale Letterlough placed eighth in 500m (106.23) and Corey Simmons finished seventh in triple jump (13.14 meters).The Temple 4x400m relay team placed second with a time of 3:21.58.
The Owls will next compete in the Maryland Invitational on Friday January 24.
