PHILADELPHIA (December 21, 2000) - Temple's Rob Lythgoe (Lester, Pa./Monsignor Bonner), a member of the track team, was chosen as the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the week. This was announced on Wednesday, December 13. Lythgoe won the one-mile run at the Princeton Invitational on Sunday, December 9, with a time of 4:16.76, a top score in the Atlantic 10. He finished second in the mile at the Bucknell Invitational on December 2, with a time of 4:10.07. Lythgoe also claimed the 1,000 meter run at the Bucknell Invitational (2:36.21), the second-fastest time in the conference. Lythgoe, a Temple law student, participated in track and field while earning his undergraduate degree at Notre Dame.
