  Stefanie Scalessa Resigns As Temple Track And Field Coach

Temple University head men's and women's track and field coach Stefanie Scalessa has submitted her resignation to pursue other professional opportunities, director of athletics Bill Bradshaw announced today. Scalessa recently completed her fourth season directing the track and field team and her third season overseeing the recently-reinstated cross country program.

Men's Track Wraps Up Outdoor Season At IC4As
 
The Temple men's track team wrapped up its 2008 outdoor campaign this weekend at the IC4A Championship at Princeton University. Sophomore Grant West placed 18th in the hammer throw (179-2), while classmate Tim Boeni was 18th in the long jump (22-5 1/4).

Men's Track Finishes Sixth At A-10s
 
Senior Andrew Fries and sophomore Brad McFadden finished second in their events to lead Temple to a sixth place showing at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Championship at the University of Massachusetts on Sunday. Fries recorded a distance of 191-6, while McFadden ran a IC4A qualifying-time of 53.53 and was edged by just 0.03 in the event.

Men's Track In Eighth After Day One At Atlantic 10 Championship
 
The Temple men's track team stands in eighth place after one day at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Championships, hosted by the University of Massacshuetts. Sophomore Tim Boeni had the best point total for the Owls, finishing fifth in the long jump (22-5) and sixth in the high jump (6-2 1/4). Sophomore Grant West finished third in the hammer throw (177-10).
