Temple head women's basketball coach Tonya Cardoza has announced that Alyssa Bennett (Hampton, Va./Oak Hill Academy) and Natasha Thames (Washington, D.C./Academy of Holy Cross) have signed National Letters of Intent for the 2009-10 season. The duo joins Tiffany Davis and Victoria Macaulay, who signed in the early signing period, to form the class of 2013.
In just their first season on North Broad Street, Tonya Cardoza and Kristen McCarthy have made quite an impact on the Temple women's basketball team and the Philadelphia Big Five. After leading the Owls to their sixth straight Big Five crown, Cardoza was named the Coach of the Year and McCarthy took home Rookie of the Year honors. Senior Dionte Christmas was named the men's basketball Most Valuable Player while junior LaKeisha Eaddy and senior Shenita Landry of women's basketball team were named co-MVPs at the Owl Club Annual Awards Banquet held Tuesday, April 14 on the main campus at Mitten Hall. Read More >
