MELBOURNE, FL -
The Temple women's crew team opened their season in Melbourne, Florida on Saturday, March 10 at the Keuper Cup Regatta. The Owls had a strong day on the water by collecting three 1st place finishes as well as three 2nd place finishes.
The Lightweight 4 finished 2nd to Florida Tech with a time of 8:30 and is comprised of Maureen McDermitt (coxswain), Laura Austin (stroke), Katie Hoban (3), Danielle Britton (2) and Jacqueline Swan (bow). Also finishing 2nd behind Stetson with a time of 8:36 was the Novice 4 squad of coxswain Danbie Choi, Bailey Chick (stroke), Brittany Sugden (3), Tulani Washington-Plaskett (2) and Kelly McAndrew (bow). Wrapping up the 2nd place finishes for the Owls was the Novice 8 squad of Amanda Fabish (coxswain), Chick (stroke), Sugden (7), Amelia Mango (6), Justine Willem (5), Kendra Dickenson (4), Nicole Wagner (3), Brenna Millard (2) and Rebecca Schillinger (bow).
Securing a 1st place finish was the Varsity 8 "B" squad of coxswain
Jillian Ploof, Austin (stroke), Hoban (7),
Kate Guth (6),
Laura Scullin (5), Britton (4), Swan (3),
Jennifer Morin (2) and
Melissa Bracco (bow). The Varsity 4 boat finished 1st with a time of 7:54 and is comprised of coxswain

Leah Silverstein (2) and
Laura Altimari (bow).
The Varsity 8 secured the Natalie Keuper Cup by beating Stetson with a time of 7:01. The Varsity 8 is comprised of coxswain Azeles, Stephanie Hanlin (stroke), Jordan (7), Fattori (6), Colleen Sullivan (5), Silverstein (4), Amanda Barr (3), Jessica Herrman (2) and Altimari (bow). The Owls return to the water in Philadelphia on Saturday, March 24 at the Murphy Cup Regatta.
