TIM HAGAN NAMED WOMEN'S CREW COACH

PHILADELPHIA - Tim Hagan, an assistant women's crew coach at Temple University the past four years, has been elevated to head women's crew coach at the University, announced Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw. Hagan replaces Christine Deatrick, who resigned her position during the summer.

A former four-year rower at Temple, Hagan, who owns a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science ('98), was a member of the Owls' 1998 Dad Vail Regatta second varsity eight championship crew as a senior. That year he also

helped lead the second varsity eight to wins at the Murphy Cup, Bergen Cup and Braxton Regatta. He capped his Temple rowing career by being named the recipient of the team's Outstanding Senior Award.

Prior to joining the TU women's crew staff, Hagan spent two years as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University. Among his responsibilities of working with Temple's student-athletes in the weightroom, Hagan was the strength and conditioning coach for both men's and women's crew. During that time, he was working on a master's degree in sport psychology, which he received from Temple in May 2000.

A 1994 graduate of La Salle College High School, Hagan rowed four years and spent three of those years under former Temple rower Robert Reinhardt. Hagan won the Stotesbury Cup and was a member of the 1993 National Championship team. As a senior, he was the recipient of the team's Most Improved Oarsman Award for the 1993-94 season.
