STATE COLLEGE, PA - Freshman foilist Melissa Parker highlighted four top 20 fencing performers for the Owls at the Penn State Open on Saturday in University Park, Pa. Junior epeeist Brianna Ferrara and freshman epeeist Kristin Howell both reached the semifinal round while freshman foilist Meredith Bratton completed the top finishes for the Cherry and White. Parker and Bratton, competing in a field of 55, placed sixth and 20th, respectively, in the foil division. Ferrara and Howell, competing in a field of 65, advanced to the semifinal round before placing 13th and 17th, respectively, in the epee division.
