BROWNE UNDEFEATED IN FOIL WIN
 

 
 
 

 

 
 

HACKENSACK, NJ - Senior Jeanne Browne went undefeated, 23-0, winning the Evelyn "Terry" Terhune Foil Trophy at the 72nd NIWFA Christmas Invitational on Sunday at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Browne's win marks the 12th time in the last 15 years and fifth in the last six years a Temple fencer at been the foil champion at this event.

 

Junior Maryanne Forsythe finished in 2nd in the foil competition after facing teammate Jeanne Browne in the finals. Freshman Samantha Myles was a finalist and placed 5th. Sophomore Leigh Adel-Arnold was a quarterfinalist finishing 18th.

 

In the women's epee competition sophomore Rachel Eschenbach reached the quarter-finals and placed 15th. Teammate freshman Ninah Bell placed 35th overall in the epee competition and won the consolation round. Drew University's Brenna Rabel won the epee competition.

 

Three Temple fencers were semi-finalists in the sabre competition. Senior Nnenna Okoro finished 7th with Freshmen Kristine Jones finishing 9th and their teammate Junior Keri Ecker finishing 11th. Sophomore Kait White placed an overall 32nd and also won the consolation wound in her respective weapon. Cadet Michelle Weinbaum of the United States Military Academy was the sabre champion.
