WEST CHESTER, PA - First-year head coach Aaron Murphy and the Temple women's gymnastics team knocked off local West Chester, 184.000 - 175.025, in dual-meet action Thursday night. Senior co-captains Jillian Kornett (vault) and Sarah Liebowitz (uneven bars), and sophomores Natasha Crawford (balance beam) and Winter Sneed (floor exercise) posted first place finishes as the Cherry and White swept all four events en route to the win.

Kornett (9.450) led a Temple attack that placed the first five finishes with a 46.375 team score on the vault. Junior Desiree Meredith (9.325), freshman Monica Zuber (9.225), junior Nicole Catrambone (9.200) and sophomore Winter Sneed (9.125) placed second through fifth, respectively.

Liebowitz's score of 9.750 headlined five Owls that placed in the top six on the uneven parallel bars. Junior Christine McNeil (9.725), and sophomores Crawford (9.600) and Nikki Berrian (9.575) finished second through fourth, respectively, while Catrambone placed sixth (9.050) as the Cherry and White pulled in a 47.700 team score.

Crawford led all competitors on the balance beam with a 9.250 while Sneed finished second with a 9.050. Freshman Nina Oteri (9.000) captured third place outright while fellow classmate Evelyn Lespinasse (8.825) and senior Noelle Moore (9.825) ranked fourth as the Owls scored a 44.950 as a team.

As Temple posted a 44.975, Sneed's 9.600 was tops in the floor exercise while Berrian (9.325) finished second and sophomore Caitlin Egan (9.250) ranked fourth. Zuber and freshman Danielle Viens (8.400) finished in a tie for eighth.

The Cherry and White will look to build upon two consecutive wins on Saturday, March 10 on the road at Cornell. The meet's start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
