WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS PLACES SECOND AT ATLANTIC 10 INVITATIONAL
 

 
 
 

 

 
 
PHILADELPHIA- The Temple women's gymnastics team (9-13) placed second in the A-10 Invitational on March 29, at Mc Gonigle Hall. Temple posted a score of 190.900 behind eventual champion George Washington (193.975) and ahead of Rhode Island (189.400).

The Owls Cicely Warrington (Howell, N.J./Freehold) and Katie Domenico (Marlboro, N.J./Marlboro) place second and third respectively on the vault with scores of 9.75 and 9.70.

As a team Temple recorded scores on the vault (47.975), the bars (48.225), on the floor (48.175) and on the beam (46.525).

George Washington's Heather Kaufman won two individual titles and teammate Rachel Mann, grabbed one title to lead George Washington to the team title. Rhode Island's Marissa Medal and Melissa Skudris were co-champions on the uneven bars. Kaufman captured the balance beam with a score of 9.675 and the all-around with a 38.7. Mann won the floor exercise title with 9.850. Rhode Island's Skudris and Medal tied for the uneven bars title with a score of 9.875.

The Owls, are having one of their better seasons in recent years having qualified and accepted an invitation to compete in the National Invitational Tournament in Texas next week.
