PHILADELPHIA - First-year head coach Joe DiPietro and the Temple softball team has announced its fall schedule for the 2008 season, which is highlighted by the annual Temple Softball Classic and Alumni Game from the Ambler Sports Complex on October 11th and 12th.

The Owls kickoff fall play when they travel to Allentown to take part in the annual Carol Weil Tournament on Saturday, September 27th. The Cherry and White open up play against Georgian Court (9:45 a.m.), followed by games against Bucknell (1:15 p.m.) and East Stroudsburg (4:45 p.m.). A member of the softball team until her untimely death from leukemia at age 19, Weil's #23 remains Temple softball's only retired number.

On Sunday, October 5th, the Owls will head to Newark, NJ to take part in the Pride College Showcase. The Owls are scheduled to play at 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

At the Temple Softball Classic, the Cherry and White will host Manhattan at 11:00 a.m., followed by a match-up with Wagner at 3:00 p.m. On Sunday, the annual Temple Softball Alumni Game will take place at noon.
