Former Temple University softball great Lisa Sommer ('88) was inducted into the Lehigh Valley Softball Hall of Fame last week, as announced by the organization on Friday.
Junior Krystle Metzler of the Temple softball has been named to the ESPN the Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District II First Team, the collegiate sports information directors' association announced Thursday. The Cosdia recognition is the first for Metzler, and it comes on the heels of her being named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team for the first time. Read More >
Freshman Jess Hirschbuhl and junior Krystle Metzler of the Temple softball teams were both honored by the Atlantic 10, as Hirschbuhl was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team and Metzler was selected to the Academic All-Conference team, this conference announced this afternoon. Read More >
Needing just one victory to secure a spot in the Atlantic 10 Championships, the Temple softball team dropped a pair of games at St. Bonaventure, including a heartbreaking 4-3, 12-inning loss in the second game with the playoff spot on the line. The Cherry and White also dropped the first game 5-1. With the defeats, the Owls conclude the season with a 15-25 (6-8 A-10) record. Read More >
