PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's tennis team concluded their weekend of play with a clean 7-0 sweep over George Washington Sunday morning. The Owls improve to 12-3 on the season, staying perfect in A-10 play (4-0). The Colonials fall to 4-7 (0-3 in A-10 play). Dina Senkina and Radka Ferancova paired up at No. 2 doubles for an 8-3 victory over the Jha/Frisch duo, while Anastasiia Rukavyshnykova and Sharanya Pattabi earned a win at No. 3 doubles. The pair of Yuri Kurashima and Christine Clermont led the Swenson/Knoedler duo, 5-4, but the match was not finished as the doubles point was already decided. The Owls swept singles action, led by Kurashima at No. 1 defeating Kendall Swenson, 6-2, 6-2. Senkina followed with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep over Madhuri Jha, and Ferancova defeated Mara Frisch, 6-1, 6-1 at the third slot. Clermont, Rukavyshnykova, and Felicia Frazier all secured wins over their opponents at the No. 4, 5 and 6 spots, respectively. The Owls (12-3) next travel to UMBC on Wednesday, April 4th (2:00 p.m.).
