NORFOLK, VA - Junior Dina Senkina and sophomore Elyse Steiner advanced to the third round of doubles play for the women's tennis team this weekend at the ITA East Regionals.

The pair won a hard fought match over Boston College's Lana Krasnopolsky and Alina Sullivan 8-6 in the first round of play. They then cruised to an 8-2 second round win of Yale's Janet Kim and Stevi Petrelli. But the pair's ride would end in the third round, when they were defeated by Dartmouth's Jesse Alder and Mary Beth Winingham 8-4.

Both Senkina and Steiner performed well in singles competition at the tournament.

Senkina won both of her qualifying matches, knocking off Harvard's Samantha Rosekrans 6-3, 7-6 (5) and Maryland's Adela Matejkova 6-3, 6-4. In the main draw, Senkina defeated Kendall Swenson of George Washington 6-2, 6-1. She then fell to William and Mary's Adela Matejkova 7-5, 6-1 in the second round. Senkina finished 3-1 in singles play for the weekend.
