PHILADELPHIA- The Temple University Women's Tennis team will face #10 William and Mary in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, it was announced yesterday, April 30, 2003 during the NCAA Selection Show on ESPNNEWS. The Owls will travel to Williamsburg, Virginia to face the Tribe on May 9.
If the Owls advance to the second round of the tournament, they will face the winner of the match between Marshall and South Alabama.
The Cherry and White received an automatic bid to the tournament after defeating Umass 4-1 in the Atlantic 10 Championship on April 19. Junior Danira Penic was named Most Outstanding Performer while freshman Mia Marovic garnered Most Outstanding Rookie Performer honors.
