Shameka Marshall is entering her first season as assistant coach of the Temple Men's and Women's Track & Field teams.
A 2006 graduate of Rutgers, Marshall arrives on North Broad after serving as volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater for the past three seasons.
An accomplished long jumper while at Rutgers, Marshall was a two-time All-American and the 2006 ECAC Outstanding Athlete in Indoor and Outdoor Track while competing for the Scarlet Knights. She was also the NCAA national runner-up in the long jump in 2006.
In international competition, Marshall finished an impressive seventh in the long jump while competing for USA Olympic Trials in 2008. In 2007, she was a member of the US team that captured the gold at the NACACs in El Salvador. She also finished seventh on Team USA at the Pan American Games in 2007 and was the national runner-up in the long jump at the USA Indoor Championships.
