Sophomore Amanda Cole broke her own school record in the weight throw, finishing second in the event (52-0 3/4), as the Temple women's indoor track and field team finished fourth at the Delaware Invitational on Saturday. Junior Shanice DePass won the 500m with a season-best 1:20.05 for the Owls in their final tune-up before next Saturday's Atlantic 10 Championship.
Junior Cheryl Anscombe finished third in the 60m dash (7.87) and 11th in the 200m (26.56), both season-bests. Sophomore Carlleen Allison was fifth in the 400m (1:00.36) and eighth in the 200m (26.30).
Freshman Brittney McRae was fourth in the 60m hurdles with a season-best time of 9.09 while classmate Melissa Gale was fourth in the pole vault (10-6).
Host Delaware won the 10-team event with 141.5 points, followed by Towson (112), Maryland-Eastern Shore (80) and Temple (65).
Temple will compete with the conference's best on Saturday at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Track Championship at Rhode Island.
