NEW YORK, NY - Several season-bests and times approaching ECAC standards were the highlights for the women's indoor track and field team at the Albany Great Dane Classic. For the second straight Friday, the Owls traveled to New York City and the New Balance Track and Field Center and finished 12th in a field that included Northeastern, St. John's, Monmouth and the host Great Danes, among others.

Junior Tynisha Gardner, who normally competes in the long sprints, moved down to the 200m and placed seventh in a season-best time of 25.47, just 0.33 off ECAC qualifying standards. Sophomore LaJonel Brown also set a season-best in the 55m by finishing eighth in a time of 7.49.

Freshman Brittani Adams set a new personal best in the 400m, finishing 13th in 58.79. For the second straight week, the 4x400 relay set a new season-best with a time of 3:54.49. The quartet is 0.55 from qualifying for the ECAC Championship.

Northeastern won the event with 143 points, beating Albany (116), St. John's (113.5), Monmouth (73) and Binghamton (63).

Temple, which split its squad this weekend, travels to the Terrapin Invitational in Landover, Md. on Saturday.
