PHILADELPHIA -- With a score of 115, the Temple University women's track team placed sixth at the 2003 Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships held February 22 in Kingston, Rhode Island. Senior Edith Lewis was named the 2002 Indoor Track Most Outstanding Performer after placing first in the triple jump with a score of 12.33 meters. She also placed fourth in the long jump with a score of 5.61 meters.

Junior Aderonke Adeniyi took first place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.84 and third place in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.05. Senior Naomi Beverly placed fifth in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.30 while teammates Samantha Porter and Marirose Roach finished third and eighth with times of 25.58 and 26.02 respectively in the 200 meter dash. Porter and Roach placed third and fourth in the 400 meter dash with times of 58.35 and 58.73. Freshmen Aisha Raheem and Tiffany Duncan led the way for the Owls in the 500 meter run placing second and third with times of 1:16.98 and 1:17.22 respectively. Rounding out the individual events was Tanesha Shelton who placed seventh in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:19.43.

The 4X400 relay team of Duncan, Adeniyi, Roach and Porter took first place with a time of 3:53.39. The Owls placed third in the 4X800 relay team with a time of 9:27.23 and ninth in the distance medley with a time of 14:43.78.

In the 55 meter hurdles, sophomore Rachel Clinton took first place with a time of 8.08 while Jessica Dunston took second place with a time of 8.12 and Jaweia Campbell took fourth place with a time of 8.24. Along with Lewis, sophomore Farren Benson competed in the triple jump placing fifth with a distance of 11.59 meters and senior Naomi Beverly placed sixth with a score of 11.50 meters.
