EMMITSBURG, MD - Competing for the first time in her collegiate career, freshman Karri Finn led the Temple women's cross country team with a 24th place finish (20:26.27) at the season opening Mt. Saint Mary's 5K Duals. Junior Rebecca Sims was the second place finisher for the Cherry and White (33rd, 21.14.43), followed by sophomore Brianna Linneman (43rd, 22:04.88) and Paige Layng (47th, 22.30.48) as the other top 50 finishers. As a team, the Cherry and White finished 2-4 in dual meets. The Owls topped UMBC (25-31) and George Washington (25-31), but fell to Navy (50-15), Mt. Saint Mary's (27-28), Maryland (42-16) and American (28-29). The Owls return to action on Saturday at the Monmouth Invitational at the Monmouth Cross Country Kickoff from Lincroft, NJ.
