Duffey Paces Women's Cross Country For Third Straight Meet

HOLMDEL, NJ - Freshman Joanna Duffey led the Temple women's cross country team for the third straight meet on Friday afternoon at Holmdel Park, finishing ninth overall at the Monmouth Invitational. She traversed the 5k-course in a time of 21:13 to give the Owls a fourth place finish.

Junior Shanice DePass finished second for TU and 15th overall (22:20). Freshman Ana Gottesfeld (21st, 23:14), sophomore Rachael Angstadt (22nd, 23:15) and freshman Tashae Croxton (24th, 24:17) rounded out the top five for the Cherry and White.

Monmouth's Malia Lyles won the individual title in a time of 20:01 and led the host Hawks to the team victory as well. MU (24 points) defeated Seton Hall (42), Felician (77), Temple (91) and Saint Peter's (137).

Temple competes at the UMBC Invitational on Saturday, September 23.
