HAVERFORD, PA -- Freshman Angela Washko was Temple's top finisher as the women's cross country team competed for the first time since 1985 at the Haverford Invitational on Friday. The rookie crossed the finish line in 19:46.50, good for 37th place in the field of 102. The meet, comprised of Villanova, Haverford, Swarthmore, Elizabethtown, New Jersey, Widener, and Bryn Mawr, was unscored.
Junior Jennette von Bargen placed 63rd in a time of 20:59.90, followed by sophomore Mary Claire Curran (70th, 21:14.70) and classmate Shanice DePass (72nd, 21:23.10). Freshman Rachel Angstadt closed out the TU top five by finishing 98th in a time of 24:20.70
Ioana Parusheva, running unattached, was the top finisher in a time of 16:45.20.
The Owls return to action on October 8 at the Monmouth Invitational.
