Sean Saverio joins Temple’s baseball staff after serving one year as an assistant coach at Immaculata University.  With Temple, Saverio’s primary responsibilities will be working with the catchers and hitters.  He will also serve as bullpen coach during games.

In his one year at Immaculata, Saverio served as the first base coach and worked with the hitters and catchers on a daily basis.  In addition to his game-day duties, he was instrumental in the recruiting efforts for Immaculata University program.

Saverio has also been involved in coaching and running youth baseball camps in the area, most notably Total Instructional Baseball Camp.  He’s the head catching instructor, and leads the eight to ten year age group.  He teaches the basics and fundamentals of baseball, as well as manners and respect for other children.

Prior to coaching, Saverio played for Widener University from 2009-12.  He had a career hitting average .363 while starting every game in his collegiate career and setting the school record of 64 hits in a season.  Widener won the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Championship in 2010 with Saverio earning MVP honors in the championship.  He was a First Team All-Conference Selection in 2010 and 2011, and served as team captain in 2011-12.  He earned his bachelor of science in business administration in 2012.
