6.27.11 | Women's Rowing

PHILADELPHIA – After seven years as the head coach of women's rowing at Temple, Tim Hagan has announced his resignation. Hagan, a 1998 graduate of Temple and a former rower himself, spent four years as an assistant coach with the program before his promotion to head coach in 2004. Hagan also received his master's degree from Temple in 2000.

“We thank Tim for his years of loyal service to the Athletic Department and University as a whole,” said Associate AD/Senior Woman Administrator Kristen Foley. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

The women's rowing team earned a third-place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships in 2010, after the team's fifth-place finish in 2009 was its highest in nine years.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as rowing coach at Temple University,” said Hagan. “I would like to thank all my rowers, coaches, parents, administration and staff for making it such a great
experience for all of these years.”

Among the team's achievements in 2010-11 was a first-place finish for the women's varsity 4 at the Bergen Cup in late April. That boat went on to take third in the semifinals at the 2011 Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta, while the varsity 8 placed sixth in its semifinal.
