Women’s Rowing Adds Full-Time Assistant Coach for the First Time In Program History

Philadelphia – Brian DeDominici, joins Temple Women's Rowing as the first full-time assistant coach in program history, under second year head-coach Rebecca Smith Grzybowski. DeDominici comes to Temple from Wayland-Weston Rowing Association, where he served as the Junior Men's Crew head coach for four years.

"This is a very exciting time for our program and we are thrilled to welcome Brian to Temple, " said Grzybowski,  " with over 15 years of coaching experience Brian will be an incredible asset as our team continues to grow in size and depth. I look forward to working with him to achieve our goal of becoming a top level rowing program."

As a head coach for Wayland-Weston Rowing,  he led the team to eight fall-spring Massachusetts Public School Rowing Association Championships appearances and six victories. In his four years as head coach, DeDominici sent four teams to the US Rowing Youth Nationals, complete with two grand finale finishes.

Brian has also served as an assistant coach at Hoabart College and Savannah College of Art and Design, novice women's coach for Clark University and as the women's assistant coach at the Pennsylvania Athletic Club, where he helped the team to fifteen top three finishes over the summer season.

Prior to his coaching career, DeDominici had success as a rower for the Savannah College of Art and Design crew team. There, he earned 4 varsity letters in crew and earned a gold medal at the 1999 and 2001 John Hunter Regatta in the open men's 8+ race and open men's 4+, respectively. DeDominci graduated from the college, cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sequential art. The coach continued his education at Framington State University, earning a master's degree in art education.

"I am very excited to be back in Philly and back on the Schuylkill," said DeDominici.   "I'm looking forward to a great experience at Temple."

DeDominici is a native of Bellingham, Massachusetts and holds a level III coaching certification from US Rowing.
